A parallel storyline involving Bishop Dupont and Father Brantoon highlights the clash and eventual integration of foreign religious beliefs with indigenous practices.

Their missionary journey, marked by divine interventions and miraculous occurrences, serves as a testament to the resilience and adaptability of faith. This subplot adds depth to the narrative, illustrating the profound impact of Christianity on Lubemba’s sociopolitical landscape.
