Stanbic bank’s digital training to boost literacy skills among Nakuru youth

Literacy and entrepreneurship skills among youth in Nakuru county are set for a major boost following a new partnership between Stanbic bank and the  County Government of Nakuru

Through the partnership, the youths will benefit from training on basic computer knowledge, online product marketing, digital finance management and business scaling.

The digital training program will be run through the 5  digital hubs based  in Rongai, Subukia, Kuresoi South, Nakuru East and Nakuru West  before being rolled out in the remaining 6 subcounties.

Nakuru county Minister in charge of Education Mr. Francis Mwangi appreciated the team for choosing Nakuru County  as a partner  noting that the program will provide  innovation opportunities to the youth and people of Nakuru in general.

He  said the  initiative  will  scale up the Small Micro Enterprises (SMEs) which will be a great boost to the county Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and employment.

He further requested the partner to extend the same to the Vocational training centers in the County to enable the trainees explore their skills and innovations online.

Pauline Mbayah who is the Executive Director for Stanbic Kenya  Foundation said  the partnership is seeking to support the SMEs and other  businesses in the county through enhanced digital training.
