Migori governor Okoth Obado Wednesday launched the 7th edition of the Governor’s Scholarship that will benefit 200 bright but needy students from the county.

The Governor’s Scholarship programme offers comprehensive high school education support to qualified students across the county.

“I challenged our MPs to immitate the programme by providing full-time sponsorship to atleast 50 students in their constituencies,” Obado said.

He noted that with the collective effort from local banks and leaders, over 500 students from the county can get sponsorship annually.

“With this kind of sponsorship, we will be able to improve the level of education in the county and give the needy students a chance to realize their dreams,” the governor said.
