The Nairobi Trademark Hotel was abuzz with inspiration and celebration from April 23 to 25, 2025, as the Inaugural Scholar Media Africa Conference unfolded. The climax of the landmark conference was the SMEGAfrica Excellence Awards, which recognized 22 exceptional individuals from across the continent. These awards celebrated trailblazers in academia, innovation, leadership, and social impact, embodying the conference’s theme: “Youth Empowerment, Health, and Engagement Through Inclusion, Innovation, and Job Creation.”

The SMEGAfrica Excellence Awards are designed to honor, celebrate, and inspire individuals, institutions, and businesses driving academic, social, economic, and environmental progress across Africa.
